Among the changes include new primary scum pumps, secondary scum pumps, dewatering feed pumps and sewage treatment pumps manufactured by ISO 9001 certified pump manufacturer Wastecorp Pumps. There were several groups involved in the design and execution of the project including consulting engineer Arcadis, Kiewit Corporation, New York Contractor Jett Industries (owned by Kiewit), Siewert Equipment (A division of Cummins Wagner) and local pump manufacturer Wastecorp. In addition to pumps, the WWTP will feature new SCADA systems, digesters, sewers, electrical and secondary treatment systems

Tesla and Siemens Create Manufacturing Centers in New York

Upstate New York is rapidly developing and attracting new industries such as Tesla’s NY manufacturing facility for Superchargers and Tesla Solar Roof and a new high speed train manufacturing facility being built by Siemens in Horsehead NY. Both manufacturers will attract thousands of new employees to the area requiring significant investment in sewage treatment and industrial wastewater pumping systems

Primary Scum Pumps

Wastecorp’s pumps were selected for their track record for quality and reliability and New York States presence of Equipment manufacturer representative and service company Siewert Equipment. Ultimately the engineer and contractor installed six Wastecorp Sludge Master Plunger Pumps. Two are primary sludge pumps 11” Sludge Master PE-1142 Plunger Pumps and two pumps are primary scum pumps and secondary scum pumps. These pumps are designed to transfer municipal sewage containing grit and solids.

Dewatering Feed Pumps

Wastecorp is also responsible for the dewatering feed pumps at the facility with 9” plunger pumps. The pumps have explosion proof motors and are connected to the facility’s new SCADA system.

Engineers looking for dewatering pumps, primary sewage pumps and primary scum pumps are invited to contact Wastecorp to learn about a variety of options including double disc pumps, plunger pumps, wet and dry prime pumps and much more.
