Pumping Out Tanks With Diaphragm Pumps

You name the tank that needs to be pumped out and we have heard of at least a few customer applications that correspond with that tank. Underground septic tanks, lagoon transfer, transport truck tankers, locomotive tankers, waste pits and waste vegetable oil drums are among the most popular.

Primary Sludge Pumps | What you Should Know

With tough sludge pumping applications like those found at municipal Wastewater Treatment Facilities, (WWTP’s) having the right primary sludge pumps can help reduce hassles and your spare parts budget down the road. This was just the case for the City of Meridian’s recent wastewater treatment facility upgrade and expansion in Meridian, Idaho.

The City of Meridian has utilized ball check technology for years to help move tough sewage and sludge. Ball check technology enabled pumps have moved trillions of gallons of raw sewage worldwide for over 50 years and is the back bone of Wastecorp’s plunger pump, profe read more

How to Replace a Dry Prime Trash Pump

As a pump manufacturer, we have seen a surge in end users and pump distributors inquiring about alternatives to dry prime pumps mounted on either a skid or wheels. Some have complained about the repair parts and service needed for dry prime pumps. Others aren’t thrilled about the big box multinational pump manufacturers’ aggressive pushes of this type of product as one of the “only” solutions for trash pump style dry prime pumps. Jake R. from Milwaukee, WI describes a common application for trash pumps below:

“We are researching replacement pumps for our fleet of 25 dry prime style trash pumps for use across our facilities in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Indiana. One of our applications involves the pump transferring water from a river into two holding ponds. We use the ponds to read more

What Kind of Dry Prime Pump Should We Use at our Water Treatment Facility

We get a lot of questions from  water treatment plants (WTP’s) and public works departments asking about the differences between regular trash pumps on a trailer with diesel engines and dry prime pumps. The following question from a municipal pump operator exemplifies the discussion:

Hi, we use your Wastecorp double disc pumps at our primary scum pumping operation but we also have a need for a dry prime pump or a regular trash pump. The purpose of this pump is to pump out our digesters for maintenance and manhole maintenance in our city. I noticed Wastecorp manufactures both dry prime and regular trash pumps. What is the difference between the two in terms of pumping performance and price? Thanks, Earnest Ernest A. Grovetown, GA

Good to hear from you Ernest. We see you are looking at either a 6” dry prime pump with a tier 4 diesel engine and a 6” self primer with engine on a DOT approved trailer.  Dry prime pumps are generally designed to be able to pump dry indefinitely without damage to the pumps. A regular trash pump is not. With a trash pump, the casing must be filled with water to avoid burning out the mechanical seal which read more

Oil Water Separator Pumps

State-of-the art food processing facilities and the engineers who design them have a challenge in finding the right pumps and control panels to transfer process wastewater. This was the case for fast food restaurant chain White Castle’s brand new innovative processing center in Vandalia, Ohio USA. Wastecorp worked with White Castle, local contractor PAE and Associates (who specialize in Wastewater treatment plant construction) and
