The name refers to the pumps ability to pass large copious amounts of solids.
What is the difference between and trash pump and water pump :
Trash pump have a two vane impeller to handle solids, whereas water pump use multi-vane
Will a trash pump pump mud:
Trash pumps are designed to pump dirty water with a solids content less than 5% . Diaphragm pumps are better for pumping mud.
Can Trash Pumps Run Dry:
Wet Prime trash pumps need water in the pump casing whereas dry prime trash pumps can run completely dry without damage.
