Will Not Prime

  1. Air leaks
  2. Blocked line
  3. Check valves not seating properly
  4. Suction lift too high or horizontal run too long
  5. Loose or worn diaphragm
  6. Engine speed too low
  1. Tighten all suction line joints and hoses.
  2. Clean hose and strainer
  3. Clean debris from valve and seat
  4. Relocate pump closer to supply
  5. Tighten bolts or replace diaphragm.
  6. Increase throttle

Will not Pump or Poor performance (at proper speed)

  1. Check valves not seating properly
  2. Suction hose lining loose
  3. Worn and sticking check valves
  4. Engine speed too low
  1. Clean debris from valve and seat
  2. Use new hose
  3. Replace with new check valves
  4. Increase throttle
